ESTERO, FL – The Florida Everblades have announced their initial promotional schedule for the 2014-15 season. Additional promotions and theme nights will be added at later dates.
Opening weekend is October 17 & 18 and is presented by the Passion Foundation. The Everblades will once again open up the season with a “Black Out” and will wear special black jerseys for the game. The special black jerseys will be auctioned off following the October 18 game and the proceeds will benefit the Passion Foundation, a local organization which raises funds to cover playgrounds with shade tents to help decrease the sun exposure of children in Southwest Florida. The foundation was founded by Tara Parla who battled skin and various other types of cancer.
“The Passion Foundation is beyond excited to partner with the Everblades this season,” said Passion Foundation Co-Founder Jonathan Parla. “The Estero Community has been so supportive and this is one of the steps of getting the foundation to the next level. Tara’s goal was to prevent one person from having to fight the battle she went through, so partnerships such as this are keeping her dream alive. We are working on our seventh shade structure, and with all of our events this fall we should be able to look into the eighth and ninth.”
The first 5,000 fans to walk though the gates for the October 17 opener will receive a free Everblades Magnet Schedule courtesy of Jack’s Cleaning Services!
November 1 is Military and Veterans Night presented by the National Coalition For Patriots. The Everblades will be wearing military themed jerseys which will be auctioned off following the game, with proceeds benefiting the National Coalition For Patriots which assists in enriching the lives of veterans. The Everblades will be honoring military personnel and veterans throughout the night.
“We are once again excited to partner with the Everblades for what will be our Fourth Veterans weekend,” said National Coalition For Patriots President Dan Ashby. “It has grown each year, and It is awesome to see how two great organizations work together to bring attention to our local Veterans. The proceeds raised each year from the jersey auction goes to the National Coalition For Patriots which is then used to help our Veterans. We look forward to another great Veterans Day weekend with the Everblades.”
The Annual IBERIABANK Teddy Bear Toss will take place on Saturday, December 13 against the expansion Indy Fuel.
