ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades play their final preseason game against the Orlando Solar Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 9 inside Hertz Arena. Tonight's game will be broadcast on FloHockey.TV and on the team's mixlr channel at everblades.mixlr.com.
Florida dominated their in-state rival last night with a 7-0 victory to start the preseason. Newcomers Jack Horbach and Brent Johnson each had three-point nights, returner Isaac Nurse scored twice, and goalie tandem of Roddy Ross and Tyriq Outen combined with 17 saves for the shutout. For Orlando, no player had more that two shots on goal and only four players did not have a negative rating in the game.
After tonight's action, the two teams will conclude their training camps next week before meeting at Hertz Arena again next Saturday for the Everblades home opener on Saturday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m. The next night, the clubs face off in Orlando for the Solar Bears home opener. Florida won 12 of 14 games against the Solar Bears last year, and clash against Orlando 15 times this year.
