ESTERO, FL – The Florida Everblades announced Wednesday that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Mike Little for the 2014-15 season.
Little, 26, returns to the Everblades after posting a 22 points (4g,18a) and a +14 rating in 44 games with Florida last season, and was the recipient of the team’s Brandon Coalter Unsung Hero Award. In addition, Little was scoreless in three appearances with the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League last season.
The 5-9, 185-pound blueliner totaled 34 points (8g, 26a) in 64 appearances with the Stockton Thunder in 2012-13, and also chipped in seven assists in 23 postseason games to help lead the Thunder to a Western Conference championship. Little set career highs in points (41), goals (10), and assists (31) in 70 games played for Stockton during the 2011-12 season.
“Mike is a real leader on our team, and serves as great example for our younger players” said Everblades Head Coach Greg Poss. “Mike can play in all situations, and we excited to have him back for next season.”
The Enfield, CT native registered 32 points (5g, 27a) during his four-year collegiate career at American International College from 2007-2011. Little attended Norfolk's training camp this past September and appeared in one preseason game against Charlotte.
The Everblades open the 2014-15 season on Friday, October 17 against the South Carolina Stingrays.
