ESTERO, FL – The Florida Everblades announced Tuesday that Forward Matthew Pistilli has returned to the team on his loan from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, while defenseman Austin Levi has been returned by the Carolina Hurricanes (NHL) from Charlotte (AHL).
Pistilli, 25, rejoins the ‘Blades where he has posted 36 points (16g, 20a) in 28 games played this season. Additionally, the 6-2, 209-pound forward has totaled 12 points (5g, 7a) in 27 AHL appearances split between Charlotte and Bridgeport. Last season, the Montreal, Quebec native finished fifth in the ECHL in scoring, with 75 points, a career-best.
Levi, 22, returns from Charlotte where he has registered a goal in ten appearances. The 6-4, 205-pound rookie blueliner has totaled 13 points (2g, 11a) in 43 games played with the Everblades this season. The Columbus, Ohio native is a third-round draft selection of the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He accrued 86 career points during parts of five seasons with the Plymouth Whalers (OHL) from 2008-2013.
Both Pistilli and Levi are expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Everblades face the Evansville IceMen at the Ford Center. Game is set for 8:15 p.m. Eastern Time.
