Greenville, SC  – The Florida Everblades will look to regroup and halt a season-high road losing streak when they wrap up a two-game series Saturday at 7:00pm from Bon Secours Wellness Arena against the Greenville Road Warriors.
A five-goal push by Greenville after the Blades led 2-1 in the second period dealt Florida its fifth straight road loss dating back to January 4 by a final count of 6-2.
Amid a disappointing night for the Blades, the line of Trevor Bruess, Kyle Bonis and Brandon MacLean provided both Florida goals and added three assists. MacLean (5g, 8a) and Bruess (4g, 5a) are both on eight-game point streaks—a season-high for the Everblades.
The Blades announced Saturday that defenseman Beau Schmitz has been assigned to the club from the Charlotte Checkers, an AHL affiliate of the team. Schmitz has four assists in six appearances for the Everblades this season.
Greenville continued to show an offensive knack against the Everblades: in seven meetings the Warriors have piled up 33 goals on the Blades defense. Michel St. Croix and Marc-Olivier Vallerand led the way Friday with two goals against Trevor Cann.
Florida will hope to corral the Warriors’ red-hot power play, which has poured in six goals on 16 chances in the last four matchups between the two South Division foes.
Saturday’s rematch will be broadcast live online at FloridaEverblades.com and on the Everblades’ app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, with a video webcast available through America ONE, the official broadband and mobile broadcaster of the ECHL, at www.americaonesports.com. Pregame coverage will get under way at 6:45pm.
