Greenville, SC – The Florida Everblades announced Thursday that third-year winger Brandon MacLean has signed a professional tryout offer with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.
MacLean, 26, departs as the Blades’ leading active scorer with 28 points (10g, 28a), a career high for the graduate of Carleton College.
A native of Burlington, Ontario, MacLean is best-known for his overtime goal in Game Five of the 2012 Kelly Cup Finals that delivered the Blades a 3-2 win to clinch the championship series four games to one for Florida’s first Kelly Cup.
On the ice, the Blades will open up 2014 on the road as they travel to Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Friday to take on the red-hot Greenville Road Warriors, who swept a pair of games last weekend from the Blades at Germain Arena, at 7:00pm.
Friday’s New Year lid-lifter will be broadcast live online at FloridaEverblades.com and on the Everblades’ app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, with a video webcast available through America ONE, the official broadband and mobile broadcaster of the ECHL, at www.americaonesports.com.
