North Charleston, SC – The Florida Everblades open up a three-game, playoff-implication-packed road trip Friday when they pay a visit to the North Charleston Coliseum to tangle with the South Division-leading South Carolina Stingrays at 7:05pm.

After meeting with the Rays just once during the 2013 segment of the season, Friday is the third of four January tilts between the South’s top two squads; Florida and South Carolina split a two-game defensive slugfest at Germain Arena two weeks ago.

Entering Friday’s contest, the Blades sit eight points behind the Rays for first place with three games in hand.

Florida received roster reinforcements throughout the week, as 6’6” goalie Connor Knapp was assigned to the club from the Rochester Americans while the AHL affiliate Syracuse Crunch reassigned center Maxime Langelier-Parent to the Blades.

South Carolina also got some good news in net this week when top netminder Jeff Jakaitis was returned from a loan from the American League’s Providence Bruins. Jakaitis has been in net for all three meetings between the Everblades and Stingrays.

Friday’s clash of the South’s top two clubs will be broadcast live online at FloridaEverblades.com and on the Everblades’ app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, with a video webcast available through America ONE, the official broadband and mobile broadcaster of the ECHL, at www.americaonesports.com. Pregame coverage will get under way at 6:50pm.
