Estero, FL – Smarting from their first regulation loss of 2013-14 on Friday, the Florida Everblades will look to bounce back Saturday in their only meeting of the season with the Toledo Walleye at 7:00pm at Germain Arena.
The Blades fell 6-5 Friday to the visiting Elmira Jackals to slip one point behind red-hot South Carolina for first place in the ECHL’s South Division.
In defeat, the Blades poured in three shorthanded goals—from Carl Nielsen, Matthew Pistilli and Mathieu Roy—to boost their SHG total to a league-best five.
Pistilli scored twice Friday and added an assist to boost his point total on the season to 19 (10g, 9a), pulling him within two points of Alaska’s peter Sivak, who leads the ECHL with 21 points (6g, 15a).
Trevor Parkes leads the Walleye in scoring (5g, 4a). Toledo has been off since Sunday, though tonight is the second game of a five-game road trip for the North Division club.
Florida will wear special edition blue Military Appreciation jerseys both Friday and Saturday, with the jerseys being auctioned off immediately following Saturday’s game, with proceeds going to the National Coalition for Patriots and the military causes they support.

Saturday’s interdivision tilt will be broadcast locally on FOX Sports Radio 1350 AM and worldwide online on America ONE, the official internet television provider for the ECHL, at www.americaonesports.com. Pregame coverage will get under way at 7:15pm.
