Kalamazoo, MI – The Florida Everblades will celebrate Thanksgiving with an interdivision matchup as they take on the Fort Wayne Komets Thursday at Memorial Coliseum.
It is the first of seven meetings between the Blades and Komets this season; in Fort Wayne’s inaugural ECHL season of 2012-13, Florida swept the two-game season series against the Komets.
Florida goalie Kristers Gudlevskis has shined in net, leading the ECHL in GAA with a mark of 1.68, while team captain Mathieu Roy has paced the Blades’ offense with five goals in his last four games.
Winners of four of their last six games, the Komets are led offensively by Mickey Lang, who is tops in the ECHL with 13 goals—one ahead of Blades winger Matthew Pistilli.
Thursday’s Thanksgiving tilt will be broadcast locally on 98.1 FM The Island and worldwide online on America ONE, the official broadband and mobile broadcaster of the ECHL, at www.americaonesports.com. Pregame coverage will get under way at 6:45pm.
