Ontario, CA – The Florida Everblades announced Thursday that goalie Jesse Deckert has been reassigned to the team by the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League.
Deckert, 27, played one preseason game for the Blades before an injury to former Everblade goalie Anton Khudobin with the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes caused Charlotte starter Justin Peters to be called up to the Canes.
His lone appearance came Sunday in relief of Mike Murphy during the Checkers’ 7-2 loss to Iowa: Deckert stopped 10 of 13 shots he faced without factoring into the decision.
In 11 regular season starts in 2012-13, Deckert went 9-1-1 with a 2.40 GAA and a .916 SV% for Florida.
The Blades kick off a four-game West Coast road trip Friday in southern California against the Ontario Reign with a 10:00pm EST puck drop and Citizens Business Bank Arena.
Friday’s interdivision contest will be broadcast locally on FOX Sports Radio 1350 AM and worldwide online on America ONE, the official internet television provider for the ECHL, at www.americaonesports.com. Pregame coverage will get under way at 9:45pm.
