Estero, FL – The Florida Everblades announced Monday that they have hired Paul Teeple as the team’s new lead broadcaster for the 2013-14 ECHL season. Teeple will be on the microphone for Everblades games on FOX Sports 1350 AM and America ONE, with more broadcast details to be announced soon.
“Paul Teeple is a great addition to our staff,” said Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush. “He has paid his dues at the Junior level and I am sure everyone will appreciate his broadcasting talent. His enthusiasm is infectious!”
Teeple, 31, comes to the Everblades after four seasons behind the mic for the Bismarck Bobcats in the North American Hockey League. In addition to broadcasting, he will also serve as the Blades’ Public and Community Relations Manager.
“Coming to Southwest Florida to join the Everblades’ front office is a dream come true for me and my family,” said Teeple. “The Everblades are a storied organization, with over 15 years of success on and off the ice and an energetic fan base that is second-to-none.”
A 2005 graduate of Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism who hails from Cleveland, Ohio, Teeple was named lead all-star broadcaster for the NAHL in 2012 and had the most-clicked broadcast in that league in 2011.
He replaces Alex Reed, who moved on to the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL earlier this month.
The Everblades open the 2013-14 season at Germain Arena on Friday, October 18, with Black Out Night against the Orlando Solar Bears. Individual game tickets are now on sale at the Capital Bank Box Office at Germain Arena, Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
