EVERBLADES RAISE $27,000 FOR LOCAL CANCER CHARITIES THROUGH JERSEY AUCTION
ESTERO, FL – The Florida Everblades are pleased to announce that the team raised $27,000 for local cancer charities through last Saturday’s Pink in the Rink jersey auction. Pink in the Rink Weekend, and the pink jerseys are presented by Premiere Oncology.
"We are so proud to work with Premiere Oncology to establish such a great night that provides a wonderful night of entertainment and a solid platform to raise money for a great cause, “ said Everblades Vice President of Sales & Marketing Chris Palin.
The purpose of Pink in the Rink is to raise money, as well as raise awareness for Breast Cancer detection and prevention.
The Everblades players wore specially designed pink jerseys (photo attached) this past weekend in their two games with the Gwinnett Gladiators at Germain Arena. The game worn jerseys were auctioned off during a live auction following this past Saturday’s game.
Pat Nagle’s jersey was the highest selling jersey on the night, bringing in a staunch $2,600. Captain Mathieu Roy’s jersey sold for $2,000, while Mike Ratchuk received the third highest bid at $1,800.
All of the net proceeds will be donated to various cancer charities across Southwest Florida.
Florida opens up a four-game road swing in Cincinnati on Wednesday beginning at 7:35 p.m. The game will be broadcast on 96 K-Rock (96.1 FM).
The Everblades next home game is Wednesday, March 13 against the South Carolina Stingrays. It will be the final Wednesday game of the regular season, and the fan’s last chance to enjoy $2 drafts, $2 wines, and $2 hot dogs all night long.
