ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced Saturday that the team has acquired rookie forward Kevin Baker from the South Carolina Stingrays in exchange for future considerations.
Baker joins the Everblades after posting eight points (5g, 3a) in 19 games this season split between South Carolina (8 games) and the San Francisco Bulls (11 games). The 5-11, 186-pound center, totaled 138 points (44g, 94a) during his four-year collegiate career at the University of Western Ontario (2008-2012).
Prior to college, the Brampton Ontario native accumulated 228 career points (109g, 119a) in four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with Owen Sound, Sudbury, and Oshawa from 2003-2008.
Florida will have a week off, and then get set for a January 4 meeting at Greenville. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. Florida returns home to battle the Toledo Walleye on January 9, 11, 12, at Germain Arena.
