JACKSONVILLE, FL. - The Florida Everblades hit the ice at Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena again for the second game of this weekend series against the Jacksonville Icemen. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. on November 7 as the Everblades are looking to build on their overtime victory yesterday.
Defenseman Ryan Mast scored his first goal as an Everblade at a perfect time as he delivered the game-winner at 4:06 of the overtime period. For Jacksonville, their loss on November 6 was the sixth one goal game that they have played this season. Also, it was the first trip to overtime the Everblades made in this young campaign.
For the Everblades, their victory has them with a 6-1-0 record and 12 points, good enough for third in the South Division behind the Greenville Swamp Rabbits and the South Carolina Stingrays.
Jacksonville is fourth in the division with a 3-2-2-1 record and nine points.
Florida will look to special teams in this game as their powerplay went scoreless on four opportunities yesterday. However, the penalty kill was in good form killing off all five opportunities the Icemen had throughout the game.
The Everblades and Icemen will face on more time this weekend on November 8 as Florida wraps up their season-long road trip.
