ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades have agreed to terms with defenseman Cole Moberg on a standard player contract for the 2026-27 season.
Moberg, 25, re-joins the Everblades for his fifth season in Southwest Florida. The veteran defenseman signed with the Blades late last season, amassing five goals and seven assists over 17 games in the regular season, before adding another three goals and ten assists in 20 playoff games to help Florida win the Kelly Cup.
Over his four seasons with Florida, Moberg has appeared in 204 games, getting 20 goals and 47 assists for 67 points. In the postseason, the right-shot defender had 14 goals and 26 assists for 40 points over 79 playoff games, helping the club win the Kelly Cup in 2023, 2024, and 2026.
Before joining Florida, the Vancouver, BC local spent parts of two seasons in the AHL split between the Rockford IceHogs, San Jose Barracuda, and Syracuse Crunch. He got three goals and 12 assists in 58 AHL games.
Moberg is a former Chicago Blackhawks draft pick, selected in the seventh round (194th overall) of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. The right-shot blueliner played for the WHL’s Prince George Cougars at the time, leading the team in points from the back end with 40 (13 goals and 27 assists) in his draft year.
