Last Week’s ResultsWednesday, January 13: Florida – 4 vs. Brampton – 2Corey Cowick scored twice as the Florida Everblades defeat the Beast 4-2. Anthony Peters made 36 saves while allowing only two goals to help lead the Everblades to victory. Chris Auger got the Beast on the board first before Maxime St-Cyr and Corey Cowick scored back to back goals to give the 'Blades a 2-1 lead. Cowick scored his second goal of the game in the second frame giving the 'Blades a 3-1 lead. Brampton cut the lead back to one late in the second period before the 'Blades grabbed the 4-2 lead and the eventual victory.Friday, January 15: Florida – 5 vs. Brampton – 1 Ryan Martindale scored a goal and two assists to lift the Everblades to a 5-1 victory over the Beast. The Everblades and Beast were scoreless in the opening frame before the 'Blades scored three goals in the second. Martindale, Matt Willows and Justin Agosta each scored in the second period, while Maxime St-Cyr and Corey Cowick scored in the third. Anthony Peters dominated in net, stopping 37 out of 38 shots on goal from the Beast.

Saturday, January 16: Florida – 2 vs. Brampton – 1 (Overtime) Kevin Lynch scored the game winning goal 1:12 into the overtime period to lead the Everblades to a 2-1 win over the Beast. The 'Blades and Beast one again went scoreless in the opening period before the Everblades finally got on the board at 3:20 into the second frame when Rob Florentino tapped the puck into the back of the net. A couple of minutes after the Florida goal, the Beast went on a 5-on-3 power play and then tied the game up 1-1. Anthony Peters and Jordan Ruby put on a goaltending clinic matching each other save for save. In overtime, Kevin Lynch crashed the net to chase down his own  rebound, and pushed the puck past Ruby for the game-winner.‘Blades Bites

  • The Everblades are unbeaten in regulation in their last seven games (6-0-0-1).
  • Ryan Martindale recorded six points (1g, 5a) in the three games last week against Brampton, and was named a runner-up for ECHL Player of the Week. Martindale has also recorded a point in six of the last seven games
  • Anthony Peters has made ten consecutive starts for the Everblades posting a 7-2-0-1 record during this stretch.

The Everblades lead the Sunshine Cup Series 10 points to 4 points.

Orlando will close out it's seven-game road slate on Friday, and are coming off a 2-0 win at Indy on Saturday. The Solar Bears are 7-3-0-0 in their last ten games.  Much of their recent success can be attributed to goaltender Ryan Massa who is 5-0-0 in the month of January with one shutout, a 1.80 goals-against-average and a .942 save percentage.

Sunday, January 24,  Everblades Charity Golf Tournament!  the Florida Everblades will host a full-team appearance golf classic at the Forest Country Club in Fort Myers this Sunday.  Proceeds support "For the Kids Foundation" and its efforts in bringing joyful elements and healing through laughter to patients at Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida. Everblades players and former Major League Baseball star and Champion Derek Lowe will be participating. The community can register to play in the golf classic via a donation of $150 or attend just the dinner and auction portion for $50 by calling 239-707-8738.
