ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced Tuesday that forward Jon DiSalvatore (pictured left) has returned to the team on loan from the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, forward Carter Sandlak (pictured middle) and goaltender Rasmus Tirronen (pictured right) have both been reassigned to the Everblades from the Charlotte Checkers (AHL).
DiSalvatore, 34, posted eight points (1g, 7a) in 22 appearances during his recent call up with Springfield. DiSalvatore now returns to the Everblades where he has recorded six points (2g, 4a) in 12 games played this season. The 6-1, 200-pound veteran winger has amassed 568 points (235g, 333a) in 814 career AHL games with numerous teams from 2003-2014. The Bangor, Maine native has made six NHL appearances during his career split between the St. Louis Blues (5 games, 2005-06) and the Minnesota Wild (1 game, 2011-12).
Sandlak, 22, returns to Florida where he has recorded four points (1g, 3a) in six games played this season. Sandlak has also logged an assist in ten appearances with the Checkers this season. Last season, he registered four points (2g, 2a) with 69 penalty minutes in 44 appearances with the Checkers. In addition, the 6-2 205-pound winger logged three assists in three appearances with the Everblades last spring as well. The Vancouver, BC native posted 48 points (24g, 24a) in 61 games played with the Plymouth Whalers (OHL) last season. Sandlak totaled 122 points during his five seasons played in the Ontario Hockey League (2010-2014) in stints with Guelph, Belleville, and Plymouth.
Tirronen, 25, has recorded a 2-0-0-0 record, a 1.50 goals-against-average and a 0.946 save percentage during his two appearances with the Everblades this season. Tirronen has a 6-2-1 record, a 3.09 goals-against average and a .888 save percentage in 11 appearances this season with the Charlotte. The 6-3, 209-pound netminder also earned a win in his lone appearance with the Checkers last spring. The Espoo, Finland native recorded a 12-14-3 record, a 2.30 goals-against average, and a .929 save percentage during his senior campaign at Merrimack College last season. Tirronen finished his three-year collegiate career with the Warriors with a mark of 22-34-8.
As a result of Tuesday's transactions, the team has released goaltender Keegan Asmundson.
