ESTERO, FL – The Florida Everblades announced Tuesday that the Carolina Hurricanes (NHL) have reassigned defenseman Tyler Ganly to the Everblades from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League,

Ganly, 22, joins the Everblades having logged an assist with a +1 rating in six appearances with Charlotte this season. The 6-2, 204-pound rookie blueliner totaled 54 career points (5g, 49a) during his three seasons with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

The Mississauga, Ontario native was selected by the Carolina Hurricanes in the sixth-round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

The Florida Everblades return home to Germain Arena on Wednesday night to begin the first of a three-game series against the visiting Reading Royals. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Eastern time.
