The Norfolk Admirals (1-1-0-0, 2 pts) will make their only appearance at Germain Arena in the regular season on Wednesday.  The Admirals are one of three teams to join the ECHL from the American Hockey League this year.  However, this is not the first stint for the Admirals in the ECHL. The Norfolk Admirals were once known as the Hampton Roads Admirals, a team that played in the ECHL from 1989-2000, winning three league championships.  In 2001, the team joined the American Hockey League, and is now back again in 2015-16 with the recent shuffling of teams and affiliates amongst the ECHL and AHL.  Norfolk split a pair of games at home this past weekend against The Wheeling Nailers.  Former Everblade Steven Whitney is now a member of the Admirals and will make his return to Germain Arena on Wednesday.

Expect a big push back from the Gladiators in their home opener on Friday.  Thomas Frazee and Brock Higgs played well against the ‘Blades this past weekend, and forward Gerry Nunn continues to be a threat to score at any time he is on the ice.

The team formerly known as the Greenville Road Warriors, the Greenville SwampRabbits (0-1-0-0, 0 pts) dropped a 6-3 decision to the Orlando Solar Bears in their season opener at the Amway Center Saturday.  Despite a sporting a new look and nickname, Greenville continues to be a big rival of the Everblades, and lead the all-time series between the two with a 32-17-9 mark. Florida will need to be mindful of forward Jack Combs who has a knack for racking up points in large bunches.
