By Bryce Wright, Media Relations Assistant

ESTERO, FL-  Matt Marquardt and Brant Harris each scored twice as the Florida Everblades take home their third victory of the season Wednesday night at Germain Arena beating the Norfolk Admirals 6-1.  The Everblades have posted six goals in back-to-back games.

For the first time this season the Everblades were held scoreless in the first period as the Admirals held the Everblades to only eight shots on goal.

The Admirals then struck first at 7:56 of the second period. Charles-Olivier Roussel one-timed a shot from the blue line off a pass from Greg Chase to get it past Daniel Altshuller’s glove for the first goal of the game.

For the first time all season the Everblades trailed in a game. However, the Everblades offense exploded after going down by one.

With just under five minutes to play in the second period Brant Harris scored on a breakaway goal with the help of Mike Cornell and Mark Nemec.

One minute later, the Everblades struck again, this time it was the captain, Matt Marquardt who slapped a one-timer past Ty Rimmer for the goal. .

Nearly two minutes later, Marquardt added another juking his way past the Admirals defense and sniping one from the slot to give the Everblades a 3-1 lead heading into the third period.

Then 3:25 into the third period Kevin Lynch upped the Everblades lead to three, following a beautiful pass in front of the net form  Brendan O’Donnell, Lynch scored his third goal of the season.

With 10 minutes on the clock in the third, Ethan Werek scored his third goal of the season backhanding a pass from Justin Agosta in the slot to give the Everblades a 5-1 lead.

After giving up his fifth goal of the game, Rimmer was replaced by Philippe Cadorette halfway through the third.

Cadorette gave up the sixth goal for the Everblades. Brant Harris broke toward the net shaking out the defense on his way to his second goal of the game and the season.

The Everblades seal their third win of the season and remain undefeated as Altshuller gets the win in net stopping 27 out of 28 shots by the Admirals. Rimmer takes the loss after giving up five goals on 30 shots.  Cadorette stopped six of seven shots faced in a relief effort.

The Everblades head to Atlanta Oct. 23 as they go out onto the road for the first time this season. Game time is set at 7:35 from The Arena at Infinite Energy Center.
