The Solar Bears picked up a big two points last night to keep pace for one of the top four playoff spots in the division.
About Last Night’s Game: Maxime Clermont stopped 32 of 34 shots, while forward Patrick Watling finished with a goal and two assists to lift the Solar Bears to a 5-2 victory over the Everblades at Germain Arena. Florida Captain Jordan Henry recorded his first goal of the season in his return to the lineup from an injury he suffered back on December 6 against Indy. Former Everblade Johnny McInnis scored Orlando’s first goal in the game.
About the Everblades: The transactions carousel continues for the Everblades today. Yesterday, defenseman Cameron Burt was loaned to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. This morning, defenseman Mike Cornell was loaned to the Charlotte Checkers (AHL). However, Florida receives the services of blueliner Mike Little who was returned to the ‘Blades from the Springfield Falcons (AHL). Newcomer Jesse Graham logged an assist in his ECHL debut last night. Florida’s penalty kill is ranked second best in the ECHL at home (88.5%).
About the Solar Bears: Goaltender Garrett Sparks leads the ECHL with a .935 save percentage. Forward Jacob Cepis leads the Solar Bears in scoring against the Everblades.
