ESTERO, FL -- The Florida Everblades announced Monday that goaltender Allen York has been recalled by the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.
York, 25, heads to Syracuse having posted a 16-4-3 record, with a 2.64 goals against average, a .903 save percentage, and an ECHL best four shutouts this season with Florida. This is York’s third call up with Syracuse, but has yet to make an appearance with the Crunch this season.
Last season, York registered 4-4-2 record, a 2.65 goals against average, and a .912 save percentage in 12 AHL appearances last season split between stints with the Charlotte Checkers, Rockford IceHogs, Texas Stars, and Syracuse Crunch.
The 6-3, 194-pound netminder made 11 National Hockey League appearances with the Columbus Blue Jackets during the 2010-11 season netting a 3-2 record, 2.30 goals against average, and a .919 save percentage. York was selected by Columbus in the sixth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
