ESTERO, FL – The Florida Everblades announced Wednesday that forward Gabriel Desjardins has been returned on loan from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League.

Desjardins, 21, rejoins the ‘Blades after logging an assist in five games played with the Checkers during his recent call-up.  Desjardins has posted nine points (4g, 5a) in 12 appearances with the Everblades this season.  The 6-0, 212-pound forward made nine appearances last season with the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League last season before having his season cut short due to an injury.

Desjardins (pronouncedDAY-ghar-DAN) had a productive career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2008-2013 totaling 185 points (85g, 100a) in stints with the Halifax Mooseheads, Quebec Remparts, and the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.

The Montreal Native, Desjardins, posted a career best 74 points (32g, 42a) in 66 regular season games, along with 15 points in 14 postseason contests with Rouyn-Noranda during the 2012-13 campaign.

Desjardins is expected to be available tonight when the Everblades battle the Kalamazoo Wings beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Wings Stadium.
