Last Time OutJohn McCarron registered a two-goal game and the line of Joe Cox, Kyle Platzer and Michael Neville combined for six points to lead the Everblades to a 5-3 win over South Carolina on Friday night. With the game tied at one after the first period, Florida scored three times in the second period and held on in the third to snap a brief two-game losing skid. Jeremy Helvig made 26 saves on 29 shots to earn his 18th win of the season. BOX SCORE | RECAP

Players to WatchJohn McCarron (FLA) – The 'Blades captain registered his third multi-goal game of the season on Friday night, which was his 15th multi-point game of the year and 57th of his career. McCarron notched the final two goals on Friday night, one of which was the game-winning score, his seventh game-winning goal of the season. He leads Florida in that category and has two more game-winners than the next closest player.

Jonathan Charbonneau (SC) - The rookie is one of just two South Carolina players who has registered multiple goals against the 'Blades this year. Charbonneau, a product of Mercyhurst University, recorded 102 points (56g-46a) in 145 games over his four-year college career. He is third on South Carolina in scoring with 35 points (10g-25a) and posted a goal on Friday.

Series historySaturday is the sixth of eight total meetings between Florida and South Carolina this season and the third of five matchups at North Charleston Coliseum. South Carolina is Florida's most-played opponent all-time, and Saturday will mark the 192nd meeting with the Stingrays. Florida has compiled a 102-67-22 record against South Carolina.

Not-So-ShorthandedFlorida continued its shorthanded success on Friday night with its 11th shorthanded tally of the season, which was the final goal of the game. The 'Blades are tied for first in the ECHL in road shorthanded goals with nine and sit tied for fifth in the league in total shorthanded tallies. The 'Blades are 10-1-0 when scoring shorthanded this season.

Triple ThreatFlorida is the only team in the ECHL with three players in the top 15 in scoring. Joe Cox (58 pts., t-3rd), John McCarron (52 pts., t-9th) and Kyle Platzer (49 pts., t-13th) all sit in the top 15 in total points. The Everblades had five players eclipse the 50-point plateau last season, including McCarron (63 pts.) and Cox (54 pts.), while three players hit at least 60 points.

Fire Away! The Everblades posted 39 shots on goal on Friday night and outshot South Carolina by 10, a trend that has been the case for much of the season. Florida has equaled or outshot its opponent in 15 of its last 16 games and has had fewer shots than its opponent in only 10 of its 54 games. Because of that dominance, the 'Blades rank third in the ECHL in shots on goal per game, averaging 33.69 shots per game this season.

Next Up Florida plays four games in five days this coming week, starting with a Wednesday night matchup in Orlando against the Solar Bears. The 'Blades host Orlando on Friday, face the Solar Bears in Orlando again on Saturday, and then take on Jacksonville on Sunday.
