ESTERO, Fla. — The Florida Everblades have traded forward Stathis Soumelidis to the Norfolk Admirals in exchange for future considerations, Everblades head coach Brad Ralph announced on Tuesday.
A native of Brno, Czech Republic, Soumelidis played in 11 games for Florida and tabbed two points on a goal and an assist.
Soumelidis notched his first career ECHL goal this past Friday against the Adirondack Thunder. The 6-foot-2, 214-pound left-handed shot has suited up in 19 career ECHL games and has three points (1g-2a).
Prior to joining the ‘Blades this season, Soumelidis played in 29 games for the Macon Mayhem of the Southern Professional Hockey League. He notched nine goals and 20 points while with the Mayhem.
The Everblades return to action on Wednesday with the first game of a three-game series with the Adirondack Thunder. Faceoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. at Hertz Arena.
