Last Time OutBlake Winiecki and Kyle Platzer both scored two goals to lead Florida to its second-highest offensive output of the season in a 7-3 win over the Admirals on Friday night. The Everblades struck three times in both the first and third periods to extend their season-high winning streak to four games.

Players to WatchBlake Winiecki (FLA) – After missing the first 10 games with an injury, Winiecki has stepped up offensively and has two multi-goal outings in his last three games. The St. Cloud State alumnus has six points (4g, 2a) in his last four games, including a career-best three-point night (2g, 1a) on Friday night against Norfolk.

Taylor Cammarata (NOR) - The Admirals' second-leading scorer has been quiet in the three-game series with Florida and has just one point through the first two games. The second-year pro is coming off a 31-point season with South Carolina last year and has 12 points on five goals and seven assists this season.

Key notes

  • Saturday night is the fifth of the eight meetings this season between Florida and Norfolk and the third and final matchup at the Norfolk Scope. The Everblades hold a 13-2-2 record against the Admirals since they joined the ECHL in the 2015-16 season and went 5-0-1 against Norfolk last season, including a 2-0-1 mark at the Norfolk Scope.
  • Since being limited to one total goal in its first two games of the current seven-game road trip, Florida has exploded for 25 goals in its last four games for an average of 6.25 goals per contest. Following a 1-0 loss to South Carolina on Nov. 16, the Everblades ranked 20th in the league in goals per game (2.75). With Friday's seven-goal outburst, Florida is now fifth in the league in that category, averaging 3.63 goals per tilt.
  • The Everblades have put together an impressive month of November so far, compiling a record of 7-2-1-0 to climb into second place in the South Division. Entering Saturday night, Florida is just four points out of first place in the division.
  • Platzer continued his scoring binge on Friday night with a two-goal game. All four of his multi-point games have come in his last four games. The Waterloo, Ontario, native has 11 points (4g, 7a) in his last 10 games. He had gone nine games without a goal but now has tallies in three straight, tying the longest goal streak for an Everblades player this season.
  • With an assist on Friday, Joe Cox stretched his point streak to four games, one shy of his season-high. He is tied for ninth in the league in scoring (20 pts.) and leads the ECHL in plus-minus rating (+14). The Michigan State University product has nine points (3g, 6a) in his four-game point streak.
  • Captain John McCarron dished out his second multi-assist game of the season on Friday, his third multi-point game of the season and 45th of his career. He is tied for the team lead in assists with 11 and is second on the team in scoring with 16 points.
  • Florida is an ECHL-best +13 in the second period this season. The next closest team is Fort Wayne at a +9 in period two.
  • Florida had 30 or more shots on goal for the sixth time on Friday and is 5-1-0 when posting at least 30 shots.
  • Friday's contest included the first penalty shot attempt in a game the Everblades have been involved in this season. Norfolk's Jake Wood was awarded the penalty shot, but Florida goaltender Jeremy Helvig made the save to keep Florida ahead 4-3 going into the third period.
  • Speaking of Helvig, he was regularly tested in the first period last Sunday against Atlanta, finishing the frame with 18 saves on 19 shots. That save total is a single-period high for an Everblades goaltender this season. He finished with a career-high 37 saves in the game, another season-high for a Florida goaltender.
  • Phillips, Saturday's probable goaltender for Florida, improved his record to 6-2-0 with his victory on Wednesday night. He has allowed two goals or fewer in all but one of his eight starts this season. The Caledonia, Ontario, native is tied for the league lead with a 2.01 goals-against-average and is eighth in the ECHL in save percentage (.923).
