About Tonight’s Game: Both teams begin the second round of the playoffs after sweeping their competition in the opening round.  The Everblades completed their sweep of Atlanta last Friday (April 20) with a 3-2 overtime win in Duluth, while Orlando wrapped up their series with South Carolina on Saturday (April 21) with a 2-1 overtime victory at home.  The series win was the first for the Solar Bears in club history and will be competing in their first ever second round series. Head-to-Head Series Information: Florida took ten of the 14 head-to-head meetings during the regular season and lead the All-Time regular season series with Orlando 55-21-3….The two teams will be meeting in the postseason for the third time.  The Everblades defeated the Solar Bears 4 games to 2 in the 2015 South Division Semifinals and 4 games to 3 in the 2017 South Division Semifinals.

About the Everblades:  Michael Kirkpatrick leads the Everblades in points (7) and goals (4).  Both Kirkpatrick and Mitchell Heard have recorded a point in three of the four playoff games played…Similar to the regular season, the Everblades have done a lot of their scoring in the third period.  The ‘Blades have scored eight of their 14 goals of the playoffs in the third period.  Florida outscored its opponents 89-54 in the third period during the regular season…Goaltender Martin Ouellette is expected to start in goal this evening.

About the Solar Bears:  Much of Orlando’s success in the postseason can be attributed to the stellar play of goaltender Cal Heeter. Heeter leads all goaltenders in the playoffs with an impressive 0.66 goals-against-average and 0.980 save-percentage. Orlando allowed just three goals against in the its first-round series with South Carolina…The Solar Bears penalty kill is a perfect 18-for-18 and will face an Everblades power play that is 2-for-25 with the man advantage in the postseason.
