About Tonight’s Game: The two teams will close out the regular season tonight in their 14th head-to-head meeting this season. On Tuesday, the Everblades locked up the South Division to secure their third division title in the last four seasons. On Thursday, Florida secured the Brabham Cup which is awarded to the ECHL’s regular season champion for finishing with the best record. The honor also secures home-ice advantage for the ‘Blades for the entire playoffs. Last night, the Everblades set a new club record for points in a season with 110. The previous mark was 108 points set back in the 1999-2000 season. The Icemen will close out their inaugural season tonight with an opportunity to finish fifth in the division.
About the Everblades: Last night, goaltending coach Josh Robinson stopped 19 of 21 shots in his first appearance in nearly a year, to help lead the ‘Blades to a 4-2 victory. Robinson was thrust into action this week when Callum Booth was recalled to Charlotte….Should Martin Ouellette start in goal tonight, he will have an opportunity to break a club record for wins in a single season. Ouellette tied the record of 32 wins originally set by Marc Magliarditi during the team’s inaugural season in 1998-99….In addition, the Everblades can also set another team record for fewest goals allowed in a season. Currently the Everblades have allowed just 170 goals against, and the standing record is 180 set back in 1998-99….Newcomer Sam Warning has recorded a goal in each of his first two games with the ‘Blades. Warning was acquired from Quad City prior to the trade deadline and joined the team on Thursday after being returned on loan from San Jose of the AHL.
