ESTERO, FL -- An exciting and FREE opportunity is coming to Germain Arena on March 17 for youth hockey players aged 5-13 years of age to try their hand at playing the goalie position.
Try Goalie Day takes place on March 17 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on the main rink at Germain Arena. Everblades Goaltending Coach Josh Robinson, in conjunction with Phil Osaer of USA Hockey, will be hosting the event for those kids interested to have fun and give the goaltending position a try.
Goalie equipment will be provided, but all participants will need to bring their own hockey equipment as well as skates. Players participating will receive instruction and guidance from an experienced staff.
No pre-registration is required, however those interested must check-in near the zamboni entrance tunnel located inside the main rink when they arrive for the event. All skill levels are encouraged to come join in on the fun.

About Josh RobinsonRobinson joined the Everblades coaching staff this past summer after concluding a successful career as a goaltender in the ECHL and American Hockey League (AHL). Robinson amassed an 88-46-5-8 record, with seven shutouts, a 2.88 goals-against-average and a 0.915 save percentage in 150 ECHL games split between the Missouri Mavericks and Idaho Steelheads from 2012-2017.
Robinson shined during the 2015-16 season with Missouri, earning ECHL Goaltender of the Year honors after posting an impressive 28-2-1 record with a 1.88 goals-against-average and a .0.931 save percentage. Robinson set an ECHL record 21-game personal win streak during that season from November 4, 2015 through February 14, 2016.
The Frankenmuth, Michigan native has also appeared in 18 career AHL games split between the Texas Stars (2013-14) and Springfield Falcons (2015-16). In addition, Robinson played four seasons at Michigan Tech from 2008-2012.
