About Tonight’s Game: On Wednesday the Everblades became the first team in the ECHL to clinch a playoff spot with a decisive 6-2 win over the Jacksonville Icemen. Florida enters the weekend with a three-point edge over second place South Carolina for the South Division lead. Meanwhile the seventh place Swamp Rabbits have been dealing with numerous injuries throughout the course of the past two months and are winless in their last ten games (0-9-1-0).

About the Everblades: Forward Spencer Smallman will make his professional debut this evening. Smallman is a fifth-round draft selection of the Carolina Hurricanes, but suffered an injury in training camp. Last season, Smallman wrapped up his five-year career with the Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with a healthy 223 points. Smallman becomes the fourth Everblades player to have played for Saint John -- Stephen MacAulay, Callum Booth and Michael Kirkpatrick also spent time during their junior career with the Sea Dogs…Florida will be without Kirkpatrick this evening as he was once again loaned to the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL)…Callum Booth is expected to start in net for Florida this evening.

About the Swamp Rabbits: The Everblades have outshot the Swamp Rabbits 144-94 in three games this season, which includes two 50+ shot outputs. However, Greenville has received some sound goaltending in those games from Ty Rimmer. Rimmer has made 132 saves against Florida this season, which includes a 50-save performance on February 2…Greenville’s roster features defenseman Daniel Echeverri who played five seasons for FGCU’s hockey team. In addition, Echeverri has appeared in preseason contests for the Everblades in each of the past two years, but recently earned a call-up to Greenville from Macon of the SPHL…Leading scorer Caleb Herbert is currently on loan to the San Jose Barracuda (AHL).
