ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Brad Ralph announced Friday that the team has acquired forward Jimmy Devito (pictured above) from the Reading Royals in exchange for future considerations. The deal was made shortly before the ECHL’s trade deadline on Thursday afternoon. In addition, the team has also agreed to terms with defenseman Vinny Muto.
Devito, 23, has recorded 18 points (8g, 10) in 31 games this season in stints with Reading and the Rapid City Rush. The 5-10, 170-pound rookie forward totaled 26 points (7g, 19a) in 121 games during his four-year collegiate career at R.I.T. from 2013-2017. The Chicago, Illinois native collected 51 points in three junior seasons in the USHL with the Chicago Steel and Lincoln Stars.
Muto, 24, returns to the Everblades where he made two appearances earlier this season. Muto most recently played with the Worcester Railers (ECHL) where he posted four points (1g, 3a) in 23 games this season. The 6-1, 200-pound blueliner also has registered 11 points (2g, 9a) in 18 games played with the SPHL’s Macon Mayhem. The Niagara Falls, New York native played four seasons at Niagara University from 2013-2017.

Saturday, March 17, vs. Orlando, 7:00 p.m. Annual Guns 'n Hoses game! The team will wear special police and fire fighter themed jerseys that will be auctioned off following the game to benefit MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association). In addition, local police and fire fighters will do battle on the ice beginning at 4:15 p.m.
Try Goalie Day also takes place on March 17 from 12;30-2:30 p.m. on the main rink at Germain Arena. This FREE event is open to youth hockey players aged 5-13 interested in the opportunity to try playing goalie. Everblades Goaltending Coach Josh Robinson in conjunction with Phil Osaer with USA Hockey will be hosting the event for interested youth players to have fun and give the goalie position a try. Goalie equipment will be provided, but interested players should bring their own hockey equipment and skates.
