MacAulay Loaned to AHL Syracuse; Heard Returns From Charlotte

ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Brad Ralph announced Tuesday that forward Stephen MacAulay (pictured above) has been loaned to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League (AHL).  In addition, forward Mitchell Heard has returned to the team from the Charlotte Checkers  (AHL).

MacAulay, 25, earns the call up to Syracuse after posting a team best 40 points (20g, 20a) in 39 games played this season with the Everblades  Last season he recorded 19 points (10g, 9a) in 23 games with Florida, while also logging six points in 30 appearances with the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL), The 6-2, 185-pound center played three seasons at St. Mary’s University (AUS) totaling 70 points (24g, 46a) in 68 career games. MacAulay won Memorial Cup Championships with Saint John (QMJHL) in 2011 and a second title with Halifax (QMJHL) in 2013.

Heard, 25, returns to Florida where he has totaled 30 points (13g, 17a) along with 96 penalty minutes in 34 appearances this season. Heard is scoreless in four appearances with the Charlotte this season.  Heard is under an AHL contract with Charlotte. The 6-1, 205-pound forward has tallied 39 points (14g, 25a) with 502 penalty minutes in 199 career AHL games, while accumulating 91 points in 50 career ECHL games.  The Bowmanville, Ontario native was a second-round draft selection of the Colorado Avalanche in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

The Everblades open a four-game northern road trip at Adirondack on Wednesday beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Fans can catch the game broadcast on WJBX (101.5 FM, 104.3 FM, 770-AM), or online by CLICKING HERE. Fans can watch the game online at ECHL.TV
