Florida continues to hold a five-point lead for the top spot in the South Division.

About the Everblades:  A rash of call-ups and injuries this week have left the Everblades a little bit thin at the forward position.  Earlier in the week, forward Dave Dziurzynski was loaned to the AHL’s Utica Comets. Yesterday, forward Steven Lorentz was reassigned to the Charlotte Checkers (AHL), while defenseman Gus Young was loaned to the San Jose Barracuda (AHL).  In addition, forward Mitchell Heard was recalled by Charlotte earlier this morning. Despite the losses of these players, the Everblades did receive talented defenseman Matt Mackenzie from the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL).  Mackenzie appeared in 17 games for the Everblades last season, recording ten points (4g, 6a) in 17 games before earning an AHL contract with Springfield.
