ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Brad Ralph announced Saturday that the team has agreed to terms with forward Stephen MacAulay for the 2017-18 season.
MacAulay, 25, returns for a second season with the Everblades where he recorded 19 points (10g, 9a) in 23 games played last season. In addition, MacAulay appeared in 30 games with the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL), logging six points (2g, 4a).
The 6-2, 185-pound center also played three seasons at St. Mary’s University (AUS) totaling 70 points (24g, 46a) in 68 career games.
The Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia native produced five productive seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) amassing 155 points split between the Saint John Sea Dogs and the Halifax Mooseheads from 2008-2013. MacAulay won Memorial Cup Championships with Saint John in 2011 and a second title with Halifax in 2013.
MacAulay was originally selected by the St. Louis Blues in the sixth round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
MacAulay is expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Everblades battle the Orlando Solar Bears in the preseason opener at Germain Arena. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
