'Blades Gain More NHL Experience with the Addition of David Dziurzynski

ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Brad Ralph announced Thursday that the team has agreed to terms with forward David Dziurzynski for the 2017-18 season.

Dziurzynski (durr-ZHEN-skee), 27, joins the Everblades after posting 17 points (11g, 6a) with 140 penalty minutes in 50 games played last season in Germany with the Iserlohn Roosters (DEL). The 6-3, 218-pound winger has appeared in 26 NHL games with the Ottawa Senators (2012-13 & 2015-16) totaling six points (3g, 3a).

From 2011-2016, Dziurzynski appeared in 315 AHL games with the Binghamton Senators compiling 127 points (46g, 81a) along with 502 penalty minutes.  The Lloydminster, Alberta native helped lead Binghamton to an AHL Calder Cup title in 2011.   Dziurzynski becomes the second player with NHL experience to agree to terms with the Everblades this season.  Forward Brett Bulmer recently agreed to terms with the team, and has made 17 NHL appearances with the Minnesota Wild.

In additional transactions, the Everblades have received the following players from the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL:

Callum Booth (G), 6-3/187 lbs.Keegan Kanzig (D), 6-6/245 lbs.Steven Lorentz (F), 6-3/191 lbs.Spencer Smallman (F), 6-1/196 lbs

The Everblades play host to the Orlando Solar Bears for a pair of preseason games this Saturday (Oct. 7) and Sunday (Oct. 8).  Florida opens their 20th Anniversary Season on Octonber 13 & 14 against the Atlanta Gladiators.  All games will take place at Germain Arena.  $1 of each ticket purchased at the Florida Community Bank Box Office, or online via Ticketmaster, will be donated to the Naples Zoo hurricane relief efforts.
