ESTERO, FL – The Florida Everblades are pleased to announce that the team will donate $1 of each individual ticket purchased for their preseason games (Oct. 7 & 8 vs. Orlando) and Opening Weekend (Oct. 13 & 14 vs. Atlanta) to the Naples Zoo. This is an effort to help rebuild the Naples Zoo which sustained significant damage from Hurricane Irma.
Effective immediately, $1 of each Everblades ticket purchased at the Florida Community Bank Box Office located at Germain Arena and online via Ticketmaster for the games on October 7, 8, 13, and 14 will go toward zoo relief efforts to repair damage and provide much needed supplies and care to the zoo’s animals.
The zoo suffered damage to multiple enclosures, while downed trees damaged many other exhibits. Flooding also caused additional damage throughout the park. Sadly, two greater kudu, a type of African antelope, died as a result of the storm.
Following the storm, the zoo asked for the public’s help, and the Everblades were happy to assist in raising relief funds.
“When we heard about the devastation at the Naples Zoo, we reached out to them immediately,” said Everblades Director of Sales Mike Kelly. “The zoo plays a prominent role in our community, so we want to lend them a helping hand. Fans can help the relief efforts at the zoo while enjoying a fun night out with the Everblades. The more fans that come out to support the ‘Blades on those four game nights, the more money that will be raised for the Naples Zoo."
