ESTERO, FL – The NHL’s Washington Capitals will host a four-team rookie tournament to be held at Germain Arena in Estero from September 9-12. The rookie tournament will also feature top prospects from the Florida Panthers, Nashville Predators and Tampa Bay Lightning.
All games of the tournament are free and open to the public and to the media. The four teams participating in the tournament will play one another one time each in a round-robin format.
In 2015, the Tampa Bay Lightning hosted the annual prospects tournament at Germain Arena.
The following is the complete tournament schedule:Saturday, Sept. 9: Florida vs. Washington, 1 p.m.Saturday, Sept. 9: Nashville vs. Tampa Bay, 4:30 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 10: Tampa Bay vs. Washington, 1 p.m.Sunday, Sept. 10: Nashville vs. Florida, 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Sept. 12: Washington vs. Nashville, 10 a.m.Tuesday, Sept. 12: Florida vs, Tampa Bay, 2 p.m.All times eastern.
Arena doors will open approximately one hour prior to the start of the first game of each day. Food and drink concessions will also be available for all games of the tournament.
