About Tonight’s Game: Tonight’s South Division Finals match-up features the Florida Everblades (4-3) and the South Carolina Stingrays (4-2).  The two teams will open up their sixth playoff series against one another, with Florida holding a 3-2 playoff mark against South Carolina.  However, the Stingrays have won the last two playoff meetings – most recently in 2015 when the Rays defeated the ‘Blades 4-2 in the second round.  Florida held a slim lead in the regular season series with a 5-3-2-0 record.

On Wednesday night, the Everblades became just the sixth team in ECHL history to win a playoff series after trailing 3-1, with a 7-4 defeat of the Orlando Solar Bears in Game 7 of the South Division Semifinals.   The Stingrays rallied from a 2-0 series deficit to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits by winning four straight games to claim their first round series.    South Carolina outscored Greenville 20-3 in those four winning games.

About the Everblades:  Brendan O’Donnell enters the series leading the playoffs with seven goals.  O’Donnell recorded three two-goal performances in the first round series against Orlando.  O’Donnell is also tied with teammate John McCarron for scoring overall in the league this postseason with 11 points.  McCarron has recorded a point in six of his seven appearances in these playoffs….Mitchell Heard will return to the lineup this evening after serving a three-game suspension he received in the first round match-up with Orlando…Anthony Peters will make his fourth consecutive start this evening for Florida.

About the Stingrays:  The Stingrays are led by Rob Flick’s nine points and six goals which is second most in the playoffs. Flick scored a team best five goals against Florida during the regular season…Goaltender Parker Milner is expected to a bulk of the action in the series.  Milner is currently ranked fifth in the playoffs with an impressive 2.17 goals-against-average…The Rays also boast the playoff’s top penalty kill at 93.9-percent.
