ESTERO, FL – The Florida Everblades announced today that the Carolina Hurricanes (NHL) have reassigned defenseman Josh Wesley to the team from the Charlotte Checkers (AHL). Carolina has also reassigned goaltender Daniel Altshuller from the Everblades to Charlotte (AHL). In addition, Charlotte has recalled forward Levko Koper.
Wesley, 20, returns to the Everblades where he has logged a goal and two assists in four games played this season. Wesley recorded his first professional goal in his Everblades debut on November 4 against Norfolk. Wesley was scoreless with a +1 rating in one appearance during his recent call-up with Charlotte. Last season, the 6-0, 193-pound winger recorded 31 points in his senior season at the University of Alberta and also registered three assists in five games played with the Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL) last spring.
