About Tonight's Game:  The Everblades open their 19th season in club history this evening. The Brad Ralph era begins tonight after Greg Poss accepted a coaching position in Austria after coaching the ‘Blades the past six seasons.   Ralph became the fifth head coach in team history in July.  Ralph has six years of coaching experience, including three seasons serving as the bench boss for the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads. Ralph was 132-64-20 as Idaho’s coach from 2012-15….The Everblades have won nine straight season openers, and have won their last eight home openers.

About the Everblades:  The Everblades will open the year with 11 returning players from last season, including goaltenders Anthony Peters who led all ECHL rookies with 27 wins in 2015-16, and Daniel Altshuller who posted a 10-4-0 record with the ‘Blades before spending most of the season with the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers….Forward Brendan O’Donnell returns after ending the regular season on a nine-game goal scoring streak which tied a club record set by Keith Anderson in 2003….The Everblades received seven players from AHL camps in the past two days including ECHL Rookie of the Year finalist Michael Kirkpatrick and reliable defenseman Kevin Raine who spent last season with the AHL’s Ontario Reign.

About the Swamp Rabbits:  Second-year coach Brian Gratz will be looking to return Greenville to the Kelly Cup Playoffs this season after a two-year hiatus…Bretton Cameron returns for his sixth season in Greenville.  The veteran winger recorded 30 points and 112 penalty minutes last season…Garrett Noonan is expected to anchor the blue line for the Swamp Rabbits, after totaling 43 points last season with the Cincinnati Cyclones.
