ESTERO, FL -- Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Brad Ralph announced Monday that the team has agreed to terms with forwards Evan Bloodoff (pictured above left) and Eric Scheid (pictured above right) for the 2016-17 season.
Bloodoff, 25, (pronounced BLUE-doff), returns for his fourth season with Everblades after posting 24 points (9g, 15a) in 37 games played with the team last season. The 5-11, 205-pound forward was initially acquired by the ‘Blades from the Gwinnett Gladiators on March 12, 2014. Bloodoff has accrued 65 points (36g, 29a) in his 100 career games with the Everblades. From 2012-2014, he was a prominent scorer with the Gladiators registering 67 points (37g, 30a) in 107 contests.
Bloodoff totaled eight points in 57 games with the AHL’s Portland Pirates from 2011-2013. The Nelson, British Colombia native was originally selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in the sixth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
“Bloodoff is a proven performer at this level,” said Ralph. “His speed, tenacity and flexibility on both wings make him a very dynamic player. When Evan gets healthy, we are going to rely on his experience to make an immediate impact.”
Scheid, 24, (pronounced SHY-dd) joins the Everblades for his rookie season after logging 28 points (13g, 15a) during his senior campaign at Penn State University (Big-10). In addition, the 5-10, 174-pound forward also made three appearances late last season with the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.
The Blaine, Minnesota native totaled a balanced 77 points (38g, 39a) during his three collegiate seasons with the Nittany Lions from 2013-2016. Scheid also played the 2011-12 season at the University of Alaska- Anchorage (WCHA) where he collected 15 points in 30 games.
“Scheid is a top-six player that has elite skill and speed,” said Ralph. “He can open the game up, and he will be tough to defend.”

The Everblades open their 2016 training camp on Tuesday, October 4 at 9:00 a.m. In additoon, the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning will also be practicing at Germain Arena this week.
