Everblades Agree to Terms with Defenseman Alexander Kuqali

ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Brad Ralph announced Thursday that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Alexander Kuqali (pictured above)for the 2016-17 season.

Kuqali (pronounced KOO-call-EEE), 25, returns to Florida after logging a goal and two assists in six games played with the Everblades late last season.  Kuqali recorded a goal in his professional debut with Florida in a game at Orlando on March 30.

Prior to joining the Everblades, the 6-2, 235-pound blueliner concluded his four-year collegiate career at R.I.T. totaling 59 points (13g, 46a) from 2012-2016.

“Alexander has a great deal of potential and was a solid addition to the team last spring,” said Ralph. “He brings good size and strength, as well as strong on-ice vision and puck handling abilities.”

The Dallas, Texas native amassed 74 points in three seasons during his junior career in the USHL split between the Indiana Ice and the Sioux City Musketeers from 2009-2012.

Kuqali joins Mike Aviani, Matt Berry, Chase Golightly, and Logan Roe to the list of players who have agreed to terms with the Everblades for the upcoming season.  Forward Peter Schneider and defenseman Kevin Clare were also acquired earlier in the summer in a trade with the Indy Fuel.

The Everblades open the 2016-17 season on October 14 & 15 against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. To view the team’s complete schedule for the 2016-17 regular season CLICK HERE----2016-17 Season Ticket Plans Now Available!  Full and flexible partial season ticket plans are currently available for the 2016-17 season.
