ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Brad Ralph announced Monday that the team has agreed to terms with forward Michael Kirkpatrick for the 2016-17 season.
Kirkpatrick, 26, joins the Everblades after leading the Adirondack Thunder (ECHL) in scoring with 60 points (29g, 31a) in 72 games played last season. In addition, the 5-11, 182-pound center recorded nine points (2g, 7a) in 12 playoff appearances with the Thunder this past spring.
“Michael brings high hockey intelligence, loads of skill and a strong desire to win,” said Ralph. “He is extremely motivated to win here and move up to the AHL.”
Prior to his professional career, Kirkpatrick accumulated 102 points in four seasons at St. Francis Xavier University from 2011-2015. The North Sydney, Nova Scotia native also totaled 251 points (108g, 143a) during his four seasons with the Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). Kirkpatrick was a member of Saint John’s 2011 Memorial Cup Championship team.
