ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades have acquired goaltender Roddy Ross from the Wichita Thunder in exchange for future considerations.
Ross, 26, is coming off his first professional season with the Thunder. In 40 games as Wichita’s starter, the left-catching netminder compiled a 14-17-6 record with a 3.34 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage. He also had one shutout, a 33-save win over the Tulsa Oilers on January 24.
Ross spent four seasons in the crease at the University of Saskatchewan before turning pro. The 6’ 3” goalie played junior hockey with the Western Hockey League’s Seattle Thunderbirds and Regina Pats. He was drafted 169th overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers.
