Series Preview: Florida Everblades vs Jacksonville Icemen

ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades begin their title defense in the South Division Semifinals against the Jacksonville Icemen, with Game One on Friday, April 18^th at 7:30 p.m. at Hertz Arena.

Florida went 5-1-1-0 against the Icemen in the regular season, including claiming victory in all three games at Hertz Arena. Oliver Chau paced Florida with six goals and two assists in the season series with Alex Kile and Colton Hargrove close behind with seven and six points, respectively. Brendan Harris led Jacksonville with seven points (two goals, five assists) versus Florida this year while Christopher Brown put home four goals.

Last season in Round One, the Everblades rallied from a 3-1 series deficit to defeat the Icemen in seven games, taking the decisive Game Seven 4-0. Sean Josling and Matthew Wedman led the way against the Icemen with five points each, while Chau and Logan Lambdin each got three points leading Florida’s returing players. Derek Lodermeier led all players in that series with six points and four goals. Both teams one one overtime game in that series, with Wedman grabbing the OT winner in Game Two and Lodermeier ending Game Three with an Iceman win. 

The Everblades have won all four series against Jacksonville in their team’s history. Every time the Iceman have made the postseason, they have fallen at Florida’s hands.
