ESTERO, Fla. – One night after the Florida Everblades scored three unanswered goals to claim a dramatic 4-3 overtime win over the Orlando Solar Bears at Hertz Arena, the South Division rivals will be back at itSaturday evening for the first of two straight games in Central Florida’s Kia Center.

In Friday night’s thrilling contest, Florida trailed 3-1 midway through the third period before Kyle Betts and Sean Allen scored goals to force overtime, setting the stage for Reece Newkirk’s game-winner with 1:18 to play in the extra session.

The Everblades enter Saturday’s tilt in Orlando with a three-game winning streak and a five-game point streak, having posted a 5-0-0-1 mark in the team’s last six contests. On the other hand, the Solar Bears have dropped three of their last four contests – two in overtime – for a 1-1-2-0 mark. Since winning seven consecutive games from January 4 through January 17, the Bears have posted a 2-2-2-0 record in Orlando’s last six contests.

This season, the Everblades hold a 7-2-1-0 mark in the season series, including a 2-0-1-0 record at Kia Center. After games that will be played Saturday and Sunday in Orlando, the in-state rivals will meet just one more time, March 15 on Orlando’s home ice.

In addition to Saturday night’s game, the Blades and Bears will square off once again Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Following the pair of contests in Central Florida, the Everblades will be back at Hertz Arena on Wednesday, February 5 to open a three-game set versus the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. The 7:30 p.m. midweek tilt will feature the latest Hump Day Deal, offering fans $3 hot dogs, $3 Bud Lights and $3 Labatt Blues. Greenville will remain in town for games on Friday, February 8 and Saturday, February 8, at 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., respectively.
