ESTERO, Fla. – After a 4-0 shutout victory over the Idaho Steelheads, highlighted by Cam Johnson's perfect performance in net and multi-point nights from Gary Haden and Jordan Sambrook, the Florida Everblades look to build on their strong start as they face Idaho again tonight, January 10, at 9:05 p.m. EST.

The Other Side: The Idaho Steelheads, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars and the AHL's Texas Stars, currently rank 14th in the league standings with a record of 17-13-3-0 following their loss to the Blades. Hank Crone still leads the team with 37 points from 10 goals and 27 assists, while Ty Pelton-Byce follows closely behind with 34 points from 17 goals and 17 assists, similarly, both remain on the injured reserved list. The Steelheads have 109 goals against, earned four overtime wins, suffered three overtime losses and carry a 51.50% win percentage.

Last Time Out In The Crease: Despite losing their first road game, the Blades redeemed themselves with a victory that was not only fueled by four unanswered goals across the first two periods but was led by none other than Cam Johnson who made it count for his 100th win wearing #33 on an Everblades sweater. Having spent his entire ECHL career in The Swamp, aside from a four-game stint with the Adirondack Thunder in the 2018-19 season, Johnson was flawless in net, turning aside all 28 of Idaho's shots to make way for the Blades' offense to fire 33 shots on Steelheads Goaltender Tomas Sholl, finding the back of the net four times. This milestone victory leveled Florida's road trip at 1-1, setting the stage for two more back-to-back matchups against Idaho.

Shutout Showdown: The Blades recorded their fifth shutout of the 2024-25 season in their most recent matchup against the Steelheads, with Cam Johnson earning four of those shutouts and Will Cranley securing the other. In contrast, Florida has been shut out just twice this season—once by the South Carolina Stingrays and once by the Orlando Solar Bears. Meanwhile, Idaho has been blanked four times this year and has yet to post a shutout in any of their 33 games played.

Multi-Point Magic: Gary Haden and Jordan Sambrook each contributed multi-point performances to Wednesday night’s Game Sheet, with Haden netting two goals and Sambrook contributing a goal and an assist. Haden’s performance marked his second multi-point game of the season, joining Isaac Nurse, Ben Brar and Kyle Betts as the fourth forward with two outings. Sambrook, the Blades' leading blueliner with 16 points, registered his third multi-point game, tying Anton Malmström for the team lead in that category.
