ESTERO, Fla. – Following a 4-1 Teddy Bear toss victory over the Jacksonville Icemen Saturday night, the Florida Everblades will now face the Orlando Solar Bears for a two-game-series split tonight, Wednesday, December 11 at 7:00 p.m. on home ice and Friday, December, 13 also at 7:00 p.m. but at Orlando’s Kia Center.
Logan Lambdin led the charge after the Icemen took a 1-0 lead Saturday night, generating two goals and one assist for three points. Lambdin tied the game late in the first period, then added one on a powerplay in the second, giving Anton Malmström the go-ahead to secure his first of the night soon after and pushing the score to a comfortable two-goal cushion.
Oliver Chau sealed the win with an empty-netter, securing a 4-1 victory in Florida’s first game back at The Swamp.
Malmström, who netted his third goal as an Everblade in Saturday's win, will head to Orlando tonight to face his former team for the first time since playing with the Solar Bears during the 2023-24 season where in his five games he registered two points.
Since joining the Blades’ roster, Malmström has recorded three goals and three assists in just eight games. With six points, he’s tied with Kade Landry for second place among Blades defensemen, trailing only Jordan Sambrook, who leads the blue line with nine points after picking up a point as a helper in Lambdin’s opening goal.
Logan Lambdin has accumulated 18 points in 21 games this season, just behind Colton Hargrove and Carson Gicewicz, who are tied for the lead in the Blades’ offensive power with 19 points each. Meanwhile, Aaron Luchuk and Spencer Kersten pace the Solar Bears’ offense with 17 points each in 23 games. Jack Adams and Tanner Schachle follow closely, each with 16 points, tied for second on the team.
This season, the Solar Bears currently sit 17th in overall team standings, ranking 12th in penalty killing and 23rd on the power play, while the Blades are currently ranked 6th in penalty killing, 12th on the power play and second overall.
