ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades aim to bounce back from their 3-2 home loss as they face the Orlando Solar Bears tonight, December 13, at 7:00 p.m. at Orlando's Kia Center.
Carson Gicewicz played a key role in both of the Blades' goals on Wednesday night, recording a goal and an assist for two points, bringing his season total to 21, taking the team lead ahead of Logan Lambdin with 19 points and Colton Hargrove with 20.
Solar Bears' Aaron Luchuk scored the game-winner with assists from Jack Adams and Spencer Kersten to maintain each of their roles as their team's top offensive power. Luchuk now leads Orlando with 19 points after his two-point performance, mirroring a game result similar to that of Gicewicz.
Jérémie Biakabutuka, alongside Kade Landry, were the two Blades' defensemen who helped set up the two shots that got past Solar Bears' goaltender Alexis Gravel. Biakabutuka’s quick read of the ice helped solidify Colton Hargrove’s office in the right circle, where he frequently generates scoring chances, while Landry is currently tied with Jordan Sambrook with 9 points for leading defensemen.
With Wednesday night considered and puck drop tonight at 7:00 p.m., the Solar Bears currently sit 14th in overall team standings, ranking 14h in penalty killing and 21st on the power play, while the Blades are currently ranked 10th in penalty killing, 11th on the power play and second overall.
