ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues and the AHL’s Springfield Thunderbirds, announced that the team has signed forward Carson Gicewicz to a standard player contract.
Gicewicz, 27, has four seasons of professional experience under his belt, with 131 of his 174 appearances coming in the AHL with three different clubs. From 2020-21 through 2022-23, Gicewicz played in 119 regular-season and Calder Cup postseason games with the Rockford IceHogs, posting 10 goals and 14 assists. Following his tenure in Rockford, Gicewicz also appeared with the Rochester Americans in 2022-23 and the Milwaukee Admirals in 2023-24.
Last season, Gicewicz played 43 games for the ECHL’s Atlanta Gladiators, registering 27 points on six goals and 21 assists.
Before turning pro, Gicewicz played college hockey for four seasons with St. Lawrence University of the ECAC and a fifth season with the University of Massachusetts on Hockey East. In 129 NCAA contests, Gicewicz recorded 78 points, scoring 38 goals and picking up 40 assists.
A native of Orchard Park, N.Y., Gicewicz played three seasons of junior hockey in the United States Hockey League with the Youngstown Phantoms, Lincoln Stars and Sioux Falls Stampede.
